What types of gobos does SpotFX™ support?2026-01-06T14:26:50-05:00

SpotFX™ is gobo-agnostic and supports:

  • Glass gobos (best for fine detail and premium clarity)
  • Metal gobos (best for bold, single-color designs)
  • Film gobos (best for short-term or cost-effective use)

You are not locked into proprietary consumables.

Can SpotFX™ project onto floors?2026-01-06T14:25:01-05:00

Yes. SpotFX™ works very well as a retail floor projector and is commonly used for logos, directional graphics, and wayfinding. The wide-angle lens makes it easy to cover floor surfaces at short distances.

Where does SpotFX™ work best?2026-01-06T14:23:35-05:00

SpotFX™ is ideal for:

  • Retail floors and windows
  • Booths and trade shows
  • Restaurant and bar interiors
  • Lobbies and entryways
  • Events and pop-ups

It performs best in controlled or moderate ambient lighting, where contrast is most effective.

How bright is SpotFX™?2026-01-06T14:18:15-05:00

SpotFX™ outputs 100 lumens optimized for high-contrast projection. This means it focuses on edge sharpness and readability rather than raw brightness, which delivers better real-world visibility on walls, floors, and signage surfaces.

Is SpotFX™ suitable for permanent installation?2026-01-05T18:57:45-05:00

Yes. With ultra-low power consumption, thermal stability, and long LED life, SpotFX™ is ideal for permanent or semi-permanent installs.

Can SpotFX™ be used outdoors?2026-01-05T18:58:20-05:00

SpotFX™ is designed for indoor use and covered outdoor or damp locations. It is not intended for direct exposure to rain or harsh weather.

Why is SpotFX™ only 100 lumens?2026-01-05T18:57:06-05:00

Because lumens don’t equal clarity. SpotFX™ is optimized for contrast, edge sharpness, and black density—the factors that make logos readable in real environments. Inflated lumen numbers often wash out fine detail.

Custom Gobos

Can I reuse my gobo?2026-04-29T13:54:50-04:00

Absolutely. Glass and metal gobos are durable and designed for repeated use. Simply swap the gobo in the projector whenever you need a different design. Many customers order multiple gobos for seasonal promotions or different events.

What surfaces can a gobo be projected onto?2026-04-29T13:54:14-04:00

SpotFX™ projects well onto flat, matte surfaces — walls, floors, ceilings, fabric backdrops, and concrete. Glossy or highly reflective surfaces may reduce image clarity. Ambient light and projection distance also affect results. Our team is happy to advise on your specific setup.

Will my gobo work with other projectors?2026-04-29T13:53:43-04:00

Our custom gobos are optimized for the SpotFX™ projector and are manufactured in the standard 26mm format, which is compatible with many professional gobo projectors that accept glass, metal, or film gobos in that size. If you’re unsure about compatibility with another projector, contact us before ordering.

Can you create a design for me if I don’t have artwork?2026-04-29T13:52:59-04:00

Yes. If you don’t have a logo or design file ready, we can help. Reach out to us at [email protected] with your concept and we’ll provide a quote for design services.

How long does production take?2026-04-29T13:52:05-04:00

Standard production time is 5–7 business days after artwork is approved. Rush options may be available — contact us before ordering if you have a tight deadline.

What’s the difference between glass, metal, and film gobos?2026-04-29T13:51:23-04:00

Glass gobos deliver the highest image quality and are ideal for logos, fine text, and detailed artwork — best for permanent or long-term use. Metal gobos are steel-cut and work well for bold, high-contrast designs and simple shapes. Film gobos are lightweight and cost-effective, best for short-term use or color applications where you need a quick turnaround.

How many colors can my gobo have?2026-04-29T13:50:37-04:00

Dichroic glass gobos support up to three colors plus white, which is included as a freebie and doesn’t count against your limit. Metal and film gobos are single-color. No gradients — all colors must be solid.

What file format do I need to submit?2026-04-29T13:49:44-04:00

Vector files are strongly preferred — .AI, .EPS, or .PDF. These give us the cleanest lines and sharpest projection results. If you only have a raster file (.PNG, .JPG), submit it and our team will evaluate whether it can be used or needs to be redrawn.
